We don't know ANYTHING about AC but felt we were being ripped off. I called Arthur and left a message. Arthur had just recently put a Mitsubishi mini-split in our garage and gave us a great price and excellent service. He called the next morning and apologized that he was really busy that day (a Friday before a very hot weekend) but he would do his best to come by the end of the day. He called a half hour before coming and was at our house by 4:30. After examining our unit he said there was a leak he could easily weld/ patch and fill with refrigerant for $295. He was done before 6 pm but shared that he had four more customers to see before his day was done. He knows how important AC is and he doesn't want to turn anyone away if he can help it. I called Shades and Arthur was out here the next morning. He said it was just a small part and charged me $65 to fix it. It is now working great. Any other repairman would have told me that the unit is shot (it is 13 years old) and that it needs to be replaced at a cost of $11,000. I would not have known the difference..Seven years ago I was using another AC service that had the highest ratings on Angie's List and they came by when the AC system in my house stopped working. Predictably the repairman told me that the unit was shot and needed to be replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars. In order to verify this though I called Arthur at Shades AC first. Arthur came by and said there was a just small part that was broken and he replaced it for under $90. He said there was nothing wrong with the system other than that small part and sure enough, seven years later the system is still running strong.This kind of honesty and responsiveness is extremely rare. I highly recommend Arthur from Shades AC. read less
